So, the Genie Mini in combination with the Product Turntable accessory is an invaluable tool for 360 product photography, but you’re probably wondering how do you get your 20+ shots of a product on to your website to display in 360?
You know how to upload product shots to your site, but they are not an interactive 360 spinning image. What you need is a 360° Viewer added to your site that will turn your multiple images into a single interactive spinning product. There are a lot of options available for this and we have compiled a short list below of our favourites that will work with a large amount of website platforms.
Now you are probably wondering - can I add these viewers to my site myself without any web coding skills? The answer is yes, many of the below install with simple plugins requiring no coding experience.
Now before you delve into installing a viewer to your site I suggest you get a little 360° satisfaction and whip up a quick 360° product photo with this super simple and free service offered by Megavisor. This will give you a great taste for what 360° product photography can do.
Just create an account, click the 'Create Object' button, upload your photos and then spin them in 360.
See what we did here using it.
You can even add this 360° view of your product directly to your site in the form of an iframe, which is kind of like a small website inside your website. All you need to do is cut and paste the supplied embedded code into content section of your product page while in the source code view. The button to switch to source code view looks like this </> - see the below example.
*Note some websites might not allow the embedding of iframes.
Here's some of our favourite tools to make 360° images:
Megavisor is a great free service and offers many customisation options, but it does include Megavisor branding so if you want something even more seamless to integrate with your website checkout the these 3 options that are from commercial 360° Viewer companies. They all offer free lite versions or trials.
Webrotate 360 produce a great 360° Viewer packaged with a very useful image editor and it can all be integrated to your site without coding skills. They even have plugins for all the major ecommerce sites for even easier integration.
Sirv offer a 360° Viewer with many features, however it’s compatible with less website platforms, but does include plugins for WordPress, Weebly, Squarespace & Shopify.
MagicToolbox is a very popular viewer and works with an extensive number of platforms and many via an easy plugin.
Finally, another option that is total free and very good is Reel, but this does require a bit of basic web coding for your site to use it.
